This scholarship is part of FP Canada’s broader commitment to building a more inclusive and accessible financial planning profession in Canada.

The Diversity in Action Scholarship, valued at up to $5,000, supports individuals from underrepresented communities in pursuing their education toward CFP certification or QAFP certification.

How to Apply

  • Identify as a woman, racialized person, Indigenous person, 2SLGBTQ+ individual, or person with a disability.
  • Must formally demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
  • Must have already completed a post-secondary degree or diploma, or currently be in the final year of a post-secondary program.

Applications must include the following:

  • An Application Form completed by the applicant
  • An essay on why they want to become a financial planner and financial need for the scholarship
  • Two Letters of Support – one personal reference and one professional or academic reference. References cannot be provided by family members.
  • Attestation completed by the applicant.

Please note the application must be completed in one visit.

FP Canada will not consider incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline.

Winners must start their chosen education program within one year of receiving the scholarship.
