Sons, daughters and legally adopted children of firefighters killed in the line of duty, planning to attend a university, accredited college or other higher-learning institution. Selection considers financial need, aptitude and academic achievement.
Mail the application, official transcript, a statement of about 200 words and two recommendations from people other than family or close family friends, using IAFF's published instructions. New and renewing applicants supply all materials. The deadline is February 1.
Current information
The award may be renewed, subject to approval, for up to four consecutive years.
