Up to two scholarships of $2,500 each, awarded every year to Atlantic Canada university students who have a work or family connection to the property and casualty insurance industry. Winners are chosen for academic excellence, financial need, contributions to school and community, major accomplishments and academic promise. The Lloyd King Scholarship is a charitable trust that has run since 2009. Lloyd King, a past Chairman of the Insurance Institute, created it as a tribute to his dedication to professionalism in the property and casualty insurance industry.

- Eligibility
- Application
To apply, you must: have lived in an Atlantic province (Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island) for at least the last five years; be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; work in the property and casualty insurance industry, or be the dependant of, or immediately related to, someone who does (for example a child, stepchild, niece or nephew); be a member of an Insurance Institute in Canada, or be the dependant of, or immediately related to, a member; and be accepted into a recognized full-time university degree program, registered for a full course load and studying full-time throughout the academic year. Among equally strong candidates, applicants from Newfoundland and Labrador are considered first, then Nova Scotia, then New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The scholarship depends on the winner finishing their current school year with grades in line with previous years.
